Con-Quest! Poké-con (Version 0.04)
The camera zoom thing. That's what got me first. You're in a turn based battle, right, and you've worn down some cosplayer's outfit to the next "rip state" and suddenly the screen just. Pushes in. Closer on the torn fabric and the skin underneath. It's such a small mechanic but it completely rewires how you look at the combat. I was playing on my phone during a particularly dull conference call, volume off obviously, and I nearly dropped the thing when the Umbreon cosplayer showed up. Ultra rare my ass, I've been grinding that new beach area for three days and she's popped up exactly once. The lightning spell scaling with max MP is nice I guess but who cares when you're trying to find the one enemy that actually makes the grind worth it. The writing is deliberately stupid in the best way. You type "friendzonedagain" into the Patreon input and all the tits go away. Why is that a feature. Why does it work. The shop cutscenes trigger randomly now after you save certain cosplayers and half of them are just these weird little vignettes that don't really go anywhere but they make the whole convention setting feel more lived in. There's a Cuebone cosplayer now. A boss fight. You can't run from bosses anymore which I learned the hard way when I was trying to save scum for better drops and got absolutely wrecked by some attack I didn't see coming. The music though. That fanmade Sun & Moon rival remix. It's too good for this game honestly, it makes the battles feel way more epic than they have any right to be. I caught myself humming it later and felt genuinely embarrassed. The Eevee animation has two parts now. Two. Parts. I don't know what the first version looked like but this one is. Detailed. The topless portraits are locked behind the Patreon tier which, fine, whatever, but knowing they exist makes every encounter feel like you're missing something. Which I guess is the point. The whole game is about wanting what's just barely out of reach, isn't it. Or maybe it's just about seeing cartoon cosplayers lose their clothes. Probably that second one.

Master Of The Dungeon
The demon lord hands you a dungeon key and fucks off. Classic setup, right? But the "saving him from a ferocious monster" bit in the intro text is a lie, I'm pretty sure he just wanted someone else to deal with the mold problem on level three. Anyway, you're a dungeon manager now, and the first thing you do is get absolutely wrecked by a slime girl because you thought your starting stats meant something. They don't. The turn based battles are brutal until you realize the whole thing is a numbers game disguised with hentai. Lose a fight and you get a very detailed scene of your character getting violated by a tentacle beast or a demon. Win, and... well, you get to read about the monster girl you just defeated in a compromising position. It's a text adventure where the text is mostly describing exactly how a wolf girl's knot works. The pixel art is crude, deliberately so, like someone drew it on a napkin during a boring meeting, but it has this weird charm. The management side is where it gets its hooks in. You're expanding rooms, improving your dark temple, recruiting monster girls to defend your shit. It's a loop. Fight, lose, read porn, get a little stronger, fight again, win, read different porn, expand a torture chamber. I spent twenty minutes optimizing my succubus breeding pit output while completely ignoring the main quest. The HTML format means I was playing it on my phone during a work call, which feels like the intended experience. The writing is surprisingly decent for a game where a goblin can use your face as a saddle. It knows exactly what it is. I just wish there was a way to skip the early game grind without having to... well, fail upwards through a dozen slime girl scenes. Not that I'm complaining, but my wrist was starting to hurt from clicking. The whole thing runs in a browser tab, so it's not exactly a visual novel, more like a horny spreadsheet with attack animations. The "dark lord" tag is misleading, you're more of a middle manager for a dark lord, which is honestly more terrifying.
