You know what I didn't expect? A game called Wet Sand to have actual sand in it. Not just metaphorical beach vibes but real, grainy texture in the backgrounds while you're trying to figure out why a kraken girl is giving you bedroom eyes on deck. Fabian Brook, this absolute nobody who trips into captaincy, stands there in his stupid fancy coat while I'm clicking through dialogue thinking, okay, when does the tentacle stuff happen. It happens. It happens a lot and the animations are... look, I've seen enough static VN scenes where characters just slide around like fridge magnets. This isn't that. The monster girls actually move like they're enjoying themselves, which is a low bar but here we are. The point and click parts feel like an afterthought, like someone remembered adventure games exist and threw in a few "find the shiny object" moments between sex scenes. I got stuck for ten minutes trying to figure out which barrel had a key. A barrel. In a pirate game. Revolutionary. But then the next scene had this shark girl with gills that flutter when she's... you know, and suddenly I don't care about barrels anymore. The oral animations have this wetness to them that makes me wonder if the artist has a thing for fluids specifically. Probably. The heterosexual only tag is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, Fabian's dick is basically the center of the universe and every monster girl wants a piece. Fine. Whatever. I wish there was at least one scene where the ancient gods did something besides talk cryptically and then fuck, but the game's called Wet Sand not Deep Philosophical Sand. The romance parts are weirdly sincere for something that also has a scene where a pirate lady's tits bounce independently of each other like they have separate agendas. Fabian has these moments of actual character development between the animated blowjobs and I caught myself reading dialogue instead of skipping. That's rare. The visual style carries everything, this painted look that makes even the stupid barrel puzzles feel atmospheric. If they patched out the point and click entirely and just let me watch monster girls get railed in pretty locations, I'd respect the honesty more. But here we are, clicking on barrels, waiting for the next tentacle.
