so i was scrolling through itch.io last night, right? the usual doomscroll past a hundred half finished renpy projects and then Doll Verse just... appears. the thumbnail alone, jesus. it's that specific kind of ai cg where the proportions are dialed up to eleven, like someone fed the machine nothing but 90s pinup mags and bimbo hypno captions. you know the look. the male protag is basically a pair of hands and a pov camera, which honestly is all you need here. the whole thing feels like a tech demo that got horny and refused to leave. it's 3dcg but rendered through this ai filter that makes everything look like a dream you had after eating too much cheese. sometimes the skin textures are weirdly glossy, like a mannequin left out in the sun, and then the next scene the lighting hits just right and you forget to breathe. there's this one character, i think her name was candy or mandy or something, who has an ass that defies physics in a way that would make sir isaac newton log off twitter forever. the collision detection during the scenes is... optimistic. let's call it optimistic. limbs clip through bodies like they're trying to escape to another dimension and honestly i respect the ambition. speaking of clipping, i spent way too long trying to angle the camera during a particular animation and accidentally softlocked myself in a wall. had to refresh the whole browser tab. lost my progress. which was like, three dialogue choices and a lot of enthusiastic moaning, but still. the sound design is exactly what you expect, stock effects layered over each other until it sounds like a very dedicated asmr channel having a meltdown. but then there's this one quiet moment where the music drops out and it's just breathing and the ambient hum of the ai's fever dream and i actually felt something? maybe it was just my graphics card overheating. anyway the big tits tag isn't lying, these things have their own gravitational pull, and the jiggle physics are set to maximum overdrive. it's absurd. i love it. i hate it. i'm going to go play it again right now.
