Down The Road Chapter 1 v0.30

Some memories hit harder when they're incomplete, like that fuzzy shit from two years ago that still wakes you up sweaty. This game's protag just got out of juvie and honestly the world didn't wait around. Streets feel the same but people moved on, left him with snapshots of a tragedy that doesn't quite piece together. Story's heavy on that noir vibe, lots of brooding and conversations that feel realer than they should. The lewd stuff? Yeah it's in there but good luck rushing to it because the writing keeps dragging you back to whatever the hell actually happened before he got locked up. Met this one character with ridiculous curves, I'm talking asset proportions that would break a lesser physiques engine, and the oral scene that eventually triggers is surprisingly well animated for something so deliberately rough around the edges. Camera angles get weird sometimes, like they forgot to smooth out transitions, which honestly adds to the whole broken memory aesthetic. Or maybe it's just unpolished. Hard to tell and I stopped caring. The humor lands in weird places too, like someone telling a joke at a funeral and you're not sure if you're supposed to laugh. Multiple protagonists switch perspectives and there's this lesbian tension subplot that develops slower than my last attempt at learning how to cook anything that isn't toast. I complained about the UI font choice for three straight minutes to absolutely nobody. Horror elements creep in sideways, not jump scares but that crawling dread when you realize something's been off the whole time. Male protag's thing is being numb until he's suddenly not, which is relatable. The mystery thread pulls tighter across chapters and somewhere around the third scene with that thicc accomplice I forgot I was originally here to fap. Oh and the community apparently found some unused dialogue files, nothing groundbreaking but people are weird about datamining.
