Empire of Heroes Prologue (Beta)

My cosplay reference folder is a disaster right now because of this game. Been screenshotting every villainess and hero outfit like a madwoman, trying to figure out how to sew that one blue suit with the ridiculous thigh cutouts. The character designs borrow from every era of comics like you can spot the silver age influences in the campy villains, then suddenly someone shows up with modern anime proportions and I'm scrambling for more fabric. The superpower system is actually pretty clever. Everyone's got something, even the random civilians you bump into, which makes the whole world feel lived in. You play as some dude who's not exactly top tier and watching him fumble through hero politics while accidentally charming half the female cast is genuinely funny at times. Combat's simple but the dialogue choices actually matter for once. There's this one scene where you can completely botch a rescue and the game just rolls with it instead of forcing a restart. Some of the romance routes feel rushed though. One character goes from "I'll destroy you" to bedroom eyes in like three conversations and I'm sitting there thinking, did I miss a scene? The 3D renders are inconsistent too. Some look gorgeous, others have that plastic sheen that reminds me of those old Poser renders from the early 2000s. Not a dealbreaker but jarring when everything else is so stylized. The humor lands more often than not. Lots of fourth wall nudging and genre awareness without becoming insufferable about it. Found myself actually laughing at a joke about utility belts of all things. And yes, the adult content is plentiful and well animated, though the physics sometimes enter anime territory where things jiggle that probably shouldn't. Big tits and bigger personalities, the game knows exactly what it's selling and doesn't pretend otherwise. Still trying to figure out if that one hero's cape is actually functional or just for dramatic billowing. Probably both.
