The menu music sounds like a MIDI file someone rescued from a geocities page, all plinky synth and fake sax. And honestly, it fits. Brothel Empire is the kind of jank that makes you feel like you found a cursed flash game from 2007, except now it wants you to manage a sex empire. You start with basically nothing, a shitty room and a girl who looks like she got her face from a character creator with three sliders. You click, you wait, you upgrade, you watch the little pixel people fuck. The sex scenes are weirdly static, like two mannequins being pushed together, but the game knows that. It leans into the grind. What gets me is the mission structure. You get a text box saying something like "The Mayor wants a special party" and then you have to figure out which of your workers has high enough stats in blowjob or whatever. It is dumb. It is so dumb. And yet I kept clicking. The world map teases all these other districts and NPCs with their own kinks, but half of them are greyed out because it is still in development. That is the whole thing, right there. A promise. I did not care about the story, which barely exists. But I cared about my brothel's name. I named it "The Rusty Spoon" and I defended that name in my head like it was a real business. The game made me do that. It makes you care about numbers going up, and then punishes you with a random event where a rival burns your place down. No warning. Just a text box and then you are back to zero. I respect the cruelty. The developer says they want a living world, decision trees, all that. I will believe it when I see it. Right now it is a skeleton with a hard on. Dare to play it alone, or invite company? Nah, you play this one in the dark, with the volume low, pretending you are just checking your email.
