You know what’s refreshing? A porn game that doesn’t pretend to be deep. Getting Inside throws a loser protagonist at a horny ancient demon and just lets the chaos happen. No tragic backstory, no world saving bullshit. The demon literally wants nothing from you. He’s just vibing, stirring up lust for the lulz. I respect that. The art is that unpolished 2d hentai style where nipples look like they were drawn by someone who’s only seen breasts described in text. Anatomically questionable but somehow hotter for it. The sex scenes have this raw, almost sketchy quality that mainstream eroge sand down to nothing. You get choices that branch into different encounters, and the women are supposedly naive but the game keeps winking at you like maybe the protagonist is the dumb one. Which he is. Gloriously so. The comedy lands weird. Sometimes it’s genuinely funny, sometimes it’s the kind of humor that makes you stare at the ceiling questioning your life choices. The pacing is like a party where someone spiked the punch too early. You’re barely settled in and suddenly there’s a sex scene with dialogue that sounds google translated through three languages and back. I wish the demon had more screen time but whatever, he’s probably off corrupting someone else’s evening. The romance tag is doing heavy lifting here. It’s more like aggressive seduction with the emotional depth of a puddle. But that’s fine. Not every visual novel needs to make you feel things besides horny and slightly confused. The multiple endings thing exists, I guess. I got one where everything worked out and one where I’m pretty sure the demon was laughing at me specifically. Getting Inside knows exactly what it is. A quick, messy, unapologetic fuckfest with anime tiddies and zero pretension. Sometimes that’s all you need between doomscrolling sessions.
