Industry Baby v0.3

I keep getting distracted by the little notification pop ups in Industry Baby. The phone UI is way too convincing, I keep thinking I got a real message for half a second. It’s just some porn producer telling me to show up and, you know, fuck someone for a scene. Which is the whole game. You’re this overachieving college grad who can’t get a real job, so you fall into the adult industry. Classic setup, very “rent is due” meets “well, I do have a big dick.” The character models are that specific 3DCG style where the boobs have their own gravitational pull. Like, comically big. Every girl has this impossible hourglass thing going on, and the animations are... enthusiastic. Lots of bouncing. The male protagonist angle is pure wish fulfillment, you’re this silent type who just dominates every scene while a harem of big titted, big assed women basically orbit you. There’s a voyeurism thread running through it too, watching scenes you’ve “unlocked” or whatever. It’s a menu, but the fantasy is being the guy everyone’s watching. The pacing is like a microwave burrito. Hot instantly, then weirdly cold in the middle. You click through dialogue that feels like it was translated through three different languages, pick a scene, and then it’s just animated vaginal sex loops. The virgin tag is on one of the characters, I think? She acts shy for exactly one line of text before it’s all moaning. I spent ten minutes just trying to figure out the money system, you earn cash from shoots to buy... I don’t even remember. Maybe a better couch? It doesn’t matter. The game forgets about your “Summa Cum Laude” backstory immediately. One second you’re a genius, the next you’re just a dick with a camera crew. I guess that’s the point. No thoughts, just vibes and jiggle physics. The male domination is less a theme and more just the entire operating system. You click, they strip, you click again, and well. You get it. The sound design is just one wet slapping noise on a loop and it’s somehow both too loud and too quiet. I can’t explain it. It haunts me. Anyway the phone is buzzing again.
