The medallion is a lie. Or maybe it isn't. That's the whole thing with this witch hunter, right? He's got this nun in front of him, real church type, promising the one artifact that can save his skin. But his brain is stuck replaying what the church did to his last lover. Betrayal has a smell, and this whole scene reeks of it. I spent maybe twenty minutes just on that first conversation, picking dialogue like I was defusing a bomb. The AI CG for the nun's face is a bit off, her eyes have that weird glassy look some renders get, but the writing in that moment is sharp. Her lip curls just slightly when she mentions the witch. A tiny detail. I got stuck on it. Then you're out in the field and it's a different beast. The animated sex scenes trigger and they are fluid. Like, genuinely, the motion is better than it has any right to be. The first witch you track down, before you even get to the real target, has this oral scene that feels almost too long. In a good way. You see the hunter's hand grip her hair, knuckles white, and the loop is smooth. No janky transitions. But the RPG bits around it, the "adventure" parts, they feel like they're from a different, older game. You click on a glowing bush and get a potion ingredient. Who cares? I'm watching a man lose his soul in a pair of thighs and I'm supposed to be excited about a herb? The humor lands weird. It's a parody of Witcher stuff, obviously. The hunter is a charismatic idiot savant. He'll monologue about the moral decay of the church and then trip over a goblin's corpse. The tonal whip lash is the point, I guess. My favorite hidden path so far involves completely ignoring the main witch and just hounding the nun for more information. She has secrets. The vaginal scene that unlocks if you push her enough is behind a weird stat check, a "piety" score that makes no sense unless you've been reading every dusty book in the background. The game never explains it. I failed it three times and the game just... moved on. No fanfare. Just a locked door you can't even see. That's the stuff that sticks with me, the stuff they don't polish. The rough edges where the real story hides.
