I keep a little folder of cute NSFW moments, screenshots and gifs and stuff, and this game keeps filling it up. The Saintess, man. Not hyperreal, but it pops in a way that makes the handjob scene behind the chapel feel more intimate than it has any right to be. The way her fingers tremble, the little magic sparkles that flicker out when she loses concentration. I'm getting ahead of myself. The setup is pure fantasy comfort food. You're a nobody, a regular dude whose childhood friend is literally the most powerful holy warrior in the land. Then an accident happens, classic bodyguard trope, and suddenly you're sharing a room and dodging demons. The incest tag is a bit of a fake out, it's more stepsibling energy with another character later, but the tension with the Saintess is where it's at. There's this one early scene where she's healing you and her hands linger, and the magic feels warm, and she's blushing but trying to be professional. The writing isn't trying to win awards, it's just... earnest. Like a fanfic that knows exactly what buttons it wants to push. The humor lands too, mostly from the protagonist being a total goof in a world of serious knights. Reminds me of that one Konosuba episode, but hornier. Wish the superpowers were more integrated into the sex scenes. You get a little of it, like a levitation blowjob that's pretty creative, but I wanted more. Imagine using a shield spell for edging, I dunno. The four routes split off cleanly, very classic VN structure, and the mage girl's path gets surprisingly romantic. Not all the animations are winners, some of the vaginal scenes feel a bit stiff, like the models are just clipping together. But then the oral scenes have this weight to them, the sound design doing a lot of heavy lifting. The demon encounters are whatever, just plot devices to get you alone with a heroine. My brain keeps going back to that first time with the Saintess though, the way the holy symbol around her neck swings back and forth, back and forth, while she whispers that this is definitely a sin but she doesn't want to stop. That's going in the permanent collection.
