Finding Miranda

You ever just wake up in an empty apartment and think, fuck, where did my wife go? That's Lucas. Computer programmer, decent gig, but the apartment's got that hollow echo now and Karen's just... gone. The game doesn't mess around with long setups. It drops you right into the mess. Miranda though. Miranda is the one you're looking for, or maybe she's looking for you? The CGs when they hit are the real deal, that painted hentai style where the skin looks warm and the expressions actually sell the moment. Not just tits out for no reason, though there's plenty of that too. I played through one branch where you're at the office late, and there's this scene with a coworker that just escalates from a spilled coffee to her blouse undone in like four clicks. The dialogue choices are blunt. You either lean into being a total degenerate or you try to hold onto some thread of the marriage that's already unraveling. What's weird is the game remembers. You blow off work to chase a lead on Miranda and suddenly your boss is texting you passive aggressive shit. That part felt real, I've been there. The married tag is the whole point, right? The guilt is baked in but the game never judges you for ignoring it. Wish there was more with Karen though, she's this ghost the whole time and you only get flashes. Maybe a DLC where you actually play the breakdown from her side? See what made her walk? That'd be something. The story choices matter but sometimes the VN parts drag between the good scenes. Like, I get it, Lucas is sad, but I'm clicking through monologues waiting for the next Miranda sighting or whatever. Still, when the CGs unlock, they unlock hard. Some of those images are burned in now. The one where Miranda's finally in the apartment again, the lighting, the way she's looking at you? Yeah. That's the stuff.
