I keep coming back to that one frame where Robin’s mouth is half open and his eyes are doing something weird, like he’s trying to remember if he left the Batmobile lights on while Harley’s grinding against his utility belt. The art is deliberately janky, you know the kind, lines that don’t quite meet and proportions that shift between panels like the artist was drawing with their non dominant hand after a few drinks. And honestly? That’s what makes it work for me. I spent way too long staring at Poison Ivy’s hair in the cave lighting, the green just sort of bleeding into the shadows, wondering how that would translate into a sketch. Her vines are everywhere but they’re not really holding anything, more like they forgot their purpose halfway through the scene. The whole setup is Batman’s off doing whatever, punching clowns probably, and Robin’s in the cave with three women who have tried to kill him multiple times in canon. Catwoman shows up and there’s this moment with her goggles pushed up that I swear was traced from a different character entirely. The clicking through dialogue is standard stuff but the text has typos that somehow make it hotter, like the person writing it was distracted. I wish the sound effects weren’t just the same wet slap noise recycled from what I’m guessing is a public domain library, but nobody’s patching that now. I forgot to mention there’s a whole sequence with Harley using a Batarang as a toy. The mechanics are just click to advance but the poses cycle in this hypnotic way that reminds me of those old flipbooks we made in school, except obviously not for school. Robin’s costume stays mostly on which is a choice I think about more than I should. The parody angle is loose, like they watched one episode of the animated series and then just winged it from memory. Batman never shows up, which feels correct somehow.
