The first time Lidia sends a photo of her dorm room, something shifts. Not in a creepy way. Well, maybe a little. The game knows what it's doing with that camera angle, the way her shirt rides up just slightly when she's unpacking boxes. You're her dad, supposedly checking in, but the texts start getting... warmer. She mentions missing home. You mention the empty house. And suddenly you're both typing things that make the phone screen feel radioactive. This whole thing runs on AI generated art that sometimes looks like a dream and sometimes like someone described a human to an alien who'd never seen one. Lidia's face in one shot will be angelic, then in the next she's got an extra finger situation happening. The jank is part of the charm though, or at least that's what I tell myself when her eyes point in slightly different directions during what's supposed to be a tender moment. The writing carries it. Whoever scripted these conversations understands that specific ache of parenting from a distance, the way you overanalyze every "k" versus "okay" in a text. Then they weaponize that emotional vulnerability with a slow burn that starts with innocent goodnight messages and ends with... look, the "cumshot" tag isn't lying. The university setting gives it structure. Lidia meets people, goes to parties, has little crises about her major. You get dialogue choices that range from supportive dad to something that would get you investigated. The game doesn't judge either path, which is honestly more disturbing than if it did. One minute you're giving solid advice about her roommate situation, the next you're both dancing around something unsaid in a late night conversation and your thumb hovers over a response that would change everything. The tension builds through nothing but words on a screen, no animation, no voice acting, just the quiet horror of realizing you're invested in where this is going. The phone interface feels authentic. Notification sounds at weird hours. Sometimes she takes forever to reply and you're just sitting there like an idiot refreshing. The game captures that specific loneliness of a parent with too much time and a daughter discovering herself in ways that make you uncomfortable. Not perfect. Some paths dead end awkwardly. The AI art occasionally breaks immersion so hard you'll laugh out loud. But there's something here about distance and desire and the terrible intimacy of text messages that lingers after you close the browser.
