Cartoon Hearts: School of Desire 0.1
The whole thing feels like someone’s half finished scrapbook page, you know? Like they got the base paper down, maybe a couple of stickers, then just... stopped. Raven’s there, looking all moody and perfect in that leotard, and my brain immediately went to the good stuff. The mind control, the dark energy tentacles, the way her cloak could just swallow you whole. But the game, this Cartoon Hearts thing, it’s a visual novel that’s more novel than visual. The art is rough, deliberately unpolished, which I kinda respect. It’s got that raw, fan art on a forgotten DeviantArt account energy. But then you click and click and it’s just talking. So much talking about sketchbooks and school teams. I wanted to see Violet Parr’s force fields used in ways that would make her mom blush, not hear about her homework. The narrative is a weird, horny soup. You’re just some dude, and Starfire is there, and she’s saying things in her broken English that should be a direct pipeline to a hardcore scene. She talks about the “clinch of joy” or something and I’m sitting there, hand not even near my pants, just confused. The Ren’py engine is doing the heavy lifting, clicking through dialogue trees that feel like they were written by someone who’s only ever described sex, never actually had it. There’s a moment where you can choose to “study” with Raven and I thought, finally, here we go. It’s just a fade to black. A literal fade to black. In an adult game. I wanted to throw my digital scrapbook across the room. I keep thinking about the potential, though. The idea of these characters, fully realized and getting absolutely railed, is a five alarm fire in my brain. But this game is just the smoke. It’s all setup, no payoff. The erotic tag is doing a lot of aspirational heavy lifting. It’s like someone described a porno to you over a bad phone connection. You get the gist, but none of the sticky details. I wish the game would just admit it’s a prologue and stop pretending the next click will finally show Violet using those stretching powers for something other than reaching a high shelf. It won’t. But I’ll probably click through the next update anyway, like a total degenerate, hoping for the scrapbook to get a lot messier.

Cross Dimensions v0.10 Alpha
Right from the jump Cross Dimensions doesn't pretend to be something it's not. That loading screen is janky, the UI looks like it was slapped together in a weekend, and the first thing you see is Starfire's tits rendered in that weird AI CG style where the nipples are just slightly off center. Not complaining. Actually I am complaining but also I kept clicking so what does that say about me. The whole premise is a fever dream. You're some dude who has to free an ancient being from a cube by, and I'm not making this up, dating and corrupting characters from completely different shows. Rias Gremory from Highschool DxD is standing next to Gwen from Total Drama Island and they're both looking at you like you're supposed to make sense of this. The point and click mechanics are barebones, you just cycle through dialogue options that range from awkward flirting to straight up asking for oral sex. There's no subtlety. Raven from Teen Titans shows up at some point and her corruption arc happens so fast I forgot what her original personality was supposed to be. The romance tag is generous, this is more like transactional hentai logic where enough correct clicks equals sex scene. The AI CG is a mixed bag. Sometimes Rias looks almost right, other times her proportions are so exaggerated she'd tip over. Big tits everywhere obviously, that's the whole point, but the inconsistency is jarring. One scene Starfire's face is perfect, next scene she's got an extra finger and her eyes are melting. The male protagonist is barely a character, just a faceless vehicle for the crossover nonsense. And yet. And yet I found myself reloading saves to see if Gwen's corruption path had different dialogue than Raven's. It doesn't really, but the anticipation of what weird anatomical disaster the next CG would bring kept me going. The oral sex scenes are explicit enough, I guess, if you can ignore the occasional rendering artifact that makes it look like someone's jaw is dislocating. The parody element is doing heavy lifting here because without recognizing these characters the whole thing would just be a confusing mess of poorly generated hentai. But I recognized them. So I stayed. That's on me.
