You ever find a game that feels like someone scanned a sketchbook from 2002 and just... let it run? That's this. The Confidential Shibuya Files, what a name, right? Sounds like some lost government document. And the art, god, it's deliberately rough. Not in a "bad artist" way, more like a "we stopped caring about clean lines after the third coffee" way. The 2DCG is all scratchy, the colors sometimes bleed outside the lines, and I spent an embarrassing amount of time just staring at one character's weirdly drawn ear. It's not right. The lobe is too long. But it gives the whole thing this grimy, photocopied zine feel that I kind of adore. So the setup is you're some higher-up getting a peek at the "real" Shibuya Incident. Which is just an excuse to throw you into turn based combat against these... monsters. Not scary monsters. More like, a guy with a squid head who seems mostly inconvenienced. The combat is where it gets strange. You have a male protagonist and then suddenly another one, multiple protagonists swapping in and out with zero explanation. One minute you're a stoic agent type, next you're some punk with a bat. The groping mechanic is tied directly to the fights. You don't just attack. You have to, uh, "destabilize" the enemy. It's a command. "Grope." Right there on the menu. Clicking it during a fight with a tentacle beast leads to this clumsy, almost bored-looking animation of a hand reaching out. The monster's reaction is just a text box that says "...!" It's so anti-climactic it loops back around to being hilarious. The vaginal sex scenes unlock after you win, and they have the same energy. A static image, weird anatomy, a complete lack of any sound that makes the whole thing feel like you're watching a security tape of something deeply unsexy. The humor is bone-dry. I laughed out loud when a monster's special attack was just called "Bad Vibe." The whole thing is a mess. A beautiful, unpolished, horny-on-purpose mess that doesn't care if you get it.
