Struggling of Rapture

The claymation look is weirdly perfect for this. Mai Shiranui rendered like a lumpy action figure getting tossed around by a gray brick wall with fists. You know exactly what you're here for and the game doesn't pretend otherwise. Pick the fight, mash through the KOF style health bars, and once she's down the real round starts. The combat is jank in a way that loops back to funny. The monster's hitbox feels like it was tuned by someone who hates you but also wants you to win eventually. Mai's AI will sometimes just stand there eating combos like she's buffering a thought. Other times she'll chain three specials and you're the one on the floor wondering if the game forgot whose side it's on. The sex scenes after the KO are the payoff, crude and direct, with that same clay aesthetic making everything look like a perverted Gumby episode. There's no dialogue worth remembering, just grunts and the occasional sprite jiggle. I wish there was a second character or even a different stage. But there won't be. This is a one trick pony and the trick is "big gray guy fucks Mai Shiranui." The sound design is basically two stock effects fighting for dominance. Sometimes the music cuts out mid scene and it's just silence plus wet slapping. Honestly that might be the most immersive part. Dare to play it alone, or invite company? Actually don't invite anyone. This is a solo mission. Like eating gas station sushi at your desk while your roommate pretends to be asleep. You finish, close the tab, and wonder why you're like this. Then you open it again next week because the clay tits have a certain gravitational pull.
