Jen's hair isn't really blonde, more like that dishwater color people call blonde when they're being generous. Sarah though, the one your character actually wants, she's got the real deal plus this school uniform thing going on that the renders spend way too much time on. Not complaining. The stepsister setup is there from the first text box, no slow burn, just boom, here's your family situation, deal with it. Reading. God, so much reading. The skip button lives in the bottom right corner, tiny little link that feels almost passive aggressive, like the dev knew you'd need it. The choices pop up and you pick one and then more text walls. Sarah scenes hit different than Jen scenes, more tension maybe, or maybe I just have a type. The brunette tag applies to someone but honestly I kept mixing up who was who in certain lighting. One scene in the kitchen, I think, had this weird shadow that made the hair color completely ambiguous. Could've been anyone. The dialogue choices sometimes feel like they matter and sometimes don't, which is every visual novel ever made so whatever. The multiple endings thing is real but getting there requires patience I don't always have. Some paths lock you into conversations that circle back on themselves like a dog chasing its tail. The girlfriend tag is aspirational more than actual for most of the runtime, you're working toward it, failing toward it, picking dialogue options that sound confident but come out weird. Like texting someone and immediately regretting the tone. The romance is there but it's buried under all those words, thousands of them, and sometimes you just want the game to shut up and show you something already. It does, eventually. Then more reading.
