Iraáil Mutalvatu. Try saying that three times fast. Sounds like a cough, right? This whole game feels like that name, honestly. Overwrought, a bit pretentious, and then suddenly you're staring at a choice that makes you feel genuinely weird in your stomach. You're this ancient vampire thing, a real piece of work, who used to be the big bad. Now you're just tired. The hunger's gone, the drama's old, and you've ghosted your entire immortal family. Left them with the trauma and the mess. Classic deadbeat dad energy, but with more blood rituals. The writing is where it gets under your skin. It's not just "do you want to be good or bad?" It's more like, your daughter, who you literally created and then abandoned, is standing there, and the game asks if you want to try and explain yourself or just... do what you used to do. The thing that made her fear you in the first place. And the "fear/love system" isn't some bar you fill. It's a mirror. I picked a dialogue option that I thought was being vulnerable, and the character reacted with pure, exhausted contempt. Like, "Oh, now you want to talk?" It stung. I actually closed the tab for a minute. Reminded me of that time I tried to apologize to someone on Discord and they just replied with a screenshot of my own stupid message from three years ago. Devastating. The explicit stuff is there, and it's not shy. Nudity, sex, the kind of graphic violence that makes you understand why the "monster" label stuck. But it's all tangled up in this heavy, gothic sadness. One minute you're reading a lore entry about The Hidden, your secret progeny, and it's all poetic and mysterious. The next, you're in a scene that's brutally intimate, and it's not about titillation, it's about power and the absolute wreckage of a relationship. It's a visual novel that feels less like reading a book and more like picking at a scab you forgot you had. The mystery isn't just about the lore, it's about whether this ancient bastard is even capable of not being a complete disaster. I still don't know the answer, and I played through twice. The second time I tried to be nice, and honestly? It felt worse. More pathetic. Maybe that's the point.
