The Selkie v3.0

The first thing you notice is how deliberately wrong the camera angles are. Like someone set up a 3D render and then tilted the whole world 15 degrees just to make you uncomfortable. This Scottish hamlet, this wet stone and grey sky place, it doesn't want you here. And the protagonist, this redhead with investigation on her mind, she definitely shouldn't be here. But she is. And the selkies, those seal-folk from myth, they're already working on her. The corruption mechanic isn't some abstract slider. You feel it in the way dialogue options start disappearing, replaced by... other things. The faerie glamour, they call it. I spent way too long trying to max out her resistance stat, clicking through the visual novel bits, thinking I was being clever. Then the "Song of the Surf" sequence hit and I realized the game had been playing me the whole time. There's a scene, outside by the shore, where the sharing starts. Not the polite kind. The kind that makes you remember this is a 3DCG game that doesn't give a fuck about your comfort. The milf character, one of the locals already deep in the selkie's pocket, she's the one who really sells the corruption arc. Her oral sex scenes have this dead-eyed enthusiasm that's more disturbing than any monster. The mystery part is almost an afterthought. You're supposedly investigating, but the game knows why you're really clicking. The lesbian content with another female protagonist type, the group sex that happens in that one cottage, the anal scene that feels like it was added because someone on a forum demanded it. It's all there, unpolished and raw. The fantasy elements clash with the cheating storyline in ways that don't make sense. The vaginal sex animations loop weirdly. Sometimes the redhead's expression resets mid-scene and it's jarring as hell. I never did figure out if the outdoor fucking was part of the ritual or just... because. The game won't tell you. It just keeps playing that surf sound, that goddamn song, and your resistance keeps dropping no matter what you do.
