My first reaction was why does this look like it was made in MS Paint by someone who just discovered the spray can tool. The art is deliberately scuffed, like a parody of itself, and honestly that’s the whole vibe. Charlie’s got this monster city that runs on screams of pleasure, which is already a sentence I never thought I’d type, and now these creatures want to break into the porn industry. The logic is nonexistent and I respect that. You click around, make choices, and watch the chaos unfold. The humor lands somewhere between a shitpost and a fever dream. There’s this one monster with tentacles that keeps flubbing his lines and Charlie just stands there with this deadpan expression while everything devolves. I laughed at a scene where a shadow demon complained about lighting angles during a shoot, which felt way too real for something so dumb. The inc tag is there but it’s more of a weird side note than the main course, almost like the dev forgot it was tagged and then remembered halfway through. Don’t expect deep branching narratives. You’re basically picking which absurd scenario plays next, and sometimes the game forgets your choice anyway. I clicked the same option twice and got two completely different outcomes, which might be a bug or might be intentional dadaist game design. Who knows. The pornholio parody stuff is everywhere if you squint. I wish there was more actual payoff to some setups, but then again the setups are so unhinged I’m not sure payoff was ever the point. It’s like watching someone build a house out of wet cardboard and then being surprised when the roof collapses. Anyway the audio design, or lack of it, is just stock sounds layered over each other like a bad remix. I kinda loved it. Monster City screams eternal, or whatever.
