You know what I miss? When games just commit to looking ugly on purpose. Crimson Sand has this grimy AI generated 3DCG thing going on where every character looks slightly wrong, like a wax figure left too close to a heater, and honestly it fits. The whole vibe is this rain soaked dystopian mess where nobody's happy and the neon lights just make everything look more diseased. Marcus Harper, your guy, has the same dead eyed stare whether he's interrogating a suspect or getting his dick sucked in some back alley clinic. The oral sex scenes have this weirdly clinical feel, like everyone's just going through motions they learned from a manual. The leveling, right, here's where my brain broke a little. You'd expect in a noir investigation game with vaginal sex and gay content to have some kind of corruption meter or relationship tracker. Nope. You get these little bursts of progression that feel almost random, like the game's just shrugging and saying "fine, you've been good, here's a blowjob scene." The graphic violence tags aren't lying either, some of the crime scene stuff made me scroll past real quick, and I'm not squeamish. I was trying to figure out the smuggling ring and suddenly there's just... bodies. Not in a cool edgy way, more like the game forgot it was supposed to be porn for a minute. The sci-fi elements are mostly background noise honestly, corporations doing evil shit, politicians being corrupt, the usual. But there's this one scene with a corpo exec that goes from 0 to "okay that's a lot of cum" in about three dialogue choices. The male protagonist being gay isn't treated as some big reveal either, which I appreciate. Marcus just hooks up with dudes when the opportunity presents itself, no angsty coming out subplot. The AI CG gives everyone these slightly mismatched proportions though, so sometimes a dick just looks... wrong. Not bad wrong, just like someone described a penis to an alien and the alien did their best. Still hot if you're not thinking too hard about it, which you shouldn't be, it's porn.
