You ever play something that feels like it was made by someone who just discovered Ren'Py last Tuesday but also somehow has a galaxy brain for what makes scenes actually hot? That's this. The animations are janky, the UI looks like a prototype from 2015, and I'm pretty sure one of the voice actresses recorded her lines in a bathroom. But fuck if I didn't keep clicking. So you're this guy who survives getting blown up, and your partner vanishes. Standard sci-fi noir setup. What got me was how the game doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is. One minute you're investigating some conspiracy about Earth being a lost cause, the next you're getting a footjob from a blue-skinned engineer who's way too casual about it. The tonal whiplash should be annoying but it's not. It's like the game knows you're here for the harem fantasy and the mystery is just the excuse to meet more women. The handjob scene with the assassin who tried to kill you earlier. That's when I knew the writer understood something. She's still got dried blood on her knuckles and she's looking at you like she might finish the job, but she's also on her knees and the voice work actually sells this weird mix of contempt and curiosity. I've seen triple-A productions with worse direction. Then there's this whole segment where you're on some derelict ship and things get violent, like actually violent, not just "oh no a bad guy" but limbs getting torn off. The graphic violence tag isn't kidding. And then five minutes later you're balls deep in a diplomat while she's trying to explain trade routes. I don't know why that combination works for me but it does. The harem management is whatever. You'll figure it out. I wish the mobile port didn't have those tiny buttons though, my thumb kept hitting the wrong dialogue option and I accidentally skipped what might have been a threesome setup. No way to go back either. The game autosaves like it hates you. Still, for a browser game that looks like this, it's got more personality than half the polished visual novels sitting in my itch.io library collecting dust. The oral scenes have this weird attention to detail, like someone on the team really cared about the wet sounds and the eye contact timing. Then the next scene the protagonist makes a joke that would get you banned from Twitter and I remembered oh right, this is that kind of game. Not complaining.
