My Neighbor Is a Goth with a Big Ass v1.0

Right away you notice the prototype jank. The apartment hallway is this flat corridor with a door that looks like it was drawn in MS Paint by someone who just discovered the rectangle tool. Your new neighbor is a goth girl with proportions that defy physics, her chest basically a gravitational anomaly. The whole thing feels like someone’s first Twine project they abandoned after a weekend, but here I am clicking through it anyway because the dialogue has this weird charm. She says stuff like “the void called, it wants its darkness back” and I’m sitting there thinking, did I accidentally download a Hot Topic employee training simulator? The interaction system is barebones, you get maybe three dialogue choices per encounter and half of them loop back to the same response. I picked the flirty option once and she just stared at me with those dead fish eyes and said “interesting” before the conversation ended. No animation, no reaction, just that single word hanging there like a wet fart at a funeral. The simulation tag is generous, nothing simulates here except maybe the experience of talking to someone who’d rather be anywhere else. But then there’s this one scene where you knock on her door late and she answers in this lacy black thing that’s barely holding on. The visual novel part kicks in with a close-up that’s actually not terrible, her expression caught between annoyed and curious. The dialogue tree opens up and suddenly you’re discussing Nietzsche while she adjusts her strap. It’s so absurdly specific I couldn’t look away. The adult content is there but it’s buried under layers of awkward pacing, like someone served you a five-course meal but every dish is just different temperatures of tap water. I wish the neighbor had more than three facial expressions, but that’s not happening. The whole thing feels like a first date where neither of you knows where to put your hands, and honestly that’s more memorable than most polished dating sims I’ve played this year.
