It’s a kinetic novel, so you’re just clicking through, watching her make the worst possible decisions while her husband’s texts get shorter and shorter on her phone screen. The plot is a slow motion car crash of loneliness. She’s overseas, the baby is a blurry photo on a nightstand, and the silence in her apartment is louder than any dialogue. Then the neighbor shows up. The interracial angle isn’t some big plot point, it’s just a fact of the guy’s skin against hers, a visual contrast the AI renders with a kind of sweaty, over saturated glee. There’s a scene where he’s just fixing a sink, and the way his hand lingers on the small of her back is more explicit than the actual oral sex scene that comes later. That oral scene, by the way, is framed weird. Her eyes are open, staring at nothing, and the animation loop is just a fraction of a second too short, so it has this frantic, almost mechanical bob. It’s not sexy, it’s desperate. Which I think is the point? Or maybe the AI just couldn’t figure out the motion blur. I got stuck on a detail in the background of one shot. A half eaten croissant on the counter. It’s there for three frames, then gone. Nobody mentions it. That’s the whole game, really. A focus on the mundane decay around the big, messy MILF cheating fantasy. The dialogue is stilted, like it was run through a translator twice, but that actually makes the emotional disconnect feel more real. She says “I am feeling a distance” and it lands harder than any poetic line could. The whole thing is unpolished, the AI art has that weird sheen where shadows don’t quite make sense, but that slump in her shoulders. That’s a real person in there, somewhere, making a choice to let everything fall apart.
