Ok so Danger BLUE. Right. The whole setup is this guy who just nopes out of his perfect city life, hot girlfriend and all, to dig graves in some backwater town. And you spend the whole time thinking, what the fuck is wrong with him. The VN drip feeds you this mystery and honestly the tension works because the sex scenes are so... weirdly placed. Like you'll be having a flashback of absolutely railing his ex, I mean the kind of scene where the dialogue is filthy and she's begging for it, and the art is this soft almost melancholic style but then her tits are out and the cum is dripping and you remember oh right this is an adult game. It's jarring in a good way. The slice of life bits in the new town are cozy I guess. There's this one scene early on where you're just chatting with the new neighbor about coffee and then a text from the ex pops up and the whole mood rots. The atmospheric tag is doing heavy lifting here, the small town feels claustrophobic. And the mystery isn't like, a detective thing, it's more like watching a car crash in slow motion. You know this idiot is still madly in love with his ex, the game tells you that while you're literally inside her in a memory sequence, and then you're back to the dreary cemetery. The whiplash is real. The romance paths are there but feel almost secondary to the main trainwreck. You can try to move on with the new people but the story keeps dragging you back to the city life you abandoned. The visual novel mechanics are standard, choices matter but sometimes they don't. I clicked a dialogue option expecting a blowjob and got a ten minute monologue about regret instead. Not complaining exactly. The explicit content is hot when it hits, the artist knows how to draw a wet pussy, let's be real, but it's never just fap material. It always has this layer of sadness which is either brilliant or exhausting depending on your mood. There's a point where you're fucking the ex and she's crying and it's like, am I supposed to be hard right now? The game doesn't care. It just keeps going. The sound design is minimal which makes the moans feel louder somehow. Anyway the whole thing is a mess but a deliberate one.
