The Veteran of Enthusiasm - 1st alpha instalment v0.8

The whole screen feels like a half remembered dream after too much absinthe, that 896x630 resolution they warn you about. It’s not a polished thing, this alpha. But there’s something about watching Lust, this demon from the second circle, her tits practically spilling out of a corset that looks painted on, striding through a realm. The turn based combat is violent, yeah, but when she gets hit, the little grunt and the way her body shudders. I was already thinking about a routine, something with a long silk robe that gets caught and ripped away. Feather fans for the succubus wings, obviously. The art isn’t crisp, but it has this raw, hand drawn feel that somehow makes the explicit bits more intense, like finding a very detailed sketch in someone’s private notebook. There’s a goblin fight early on. Nothing special, you just click attack. But then the game throws you into a scene with a defeated one and it’s a sudden, messy tangle of limbs and a specific oral fixation that’s drawn with a real attention to the, uh, fluids. I wished the sound had a little more squelch to it, but that’s a small thing that’ll never change I bet. The Patron only content is there, a locked door right in the first hub area, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t curious what’s behind it. I’m not curious. I don’t care. I spent ten minutes just clicking around it, seeing if there was a glitch. There are bugs, for sure. A dialogue box got stuck on screen during a sex scene once, right over the penetration, and I just had to laugh. A burlesque act with a piece of the set falling down mid twirl, same energy. You know what I was thinking about during the part where you first meet another succubus? Pickles. Specifically, those tiny cornichons. The game doesn’t explain its mechanics, you just sort of figure out the quest system by bumbling around. My Lust ended up topless in a tavern for no clear reason I could see, and the other patrons didn’t even react. That’s a mood, honestly. The evolving characters thing is probably in there somewhere, some stat screen I skimmed past. This isn’t a finished story, it’s a chaotic, horny sketchbook that’s constantly developing, and that’s its whole appeal. The legend is just starting, and it’s already a mess. A hot one.
