Photography club in this game is just an excuse to point a lens at tits. Let's be real. Summer Heat knows exactly what it is, a visual novel where a guy with a camera stumbles through summer school and every woman he meets is basically a walking pair of problems. The art is that thick lined CG hentai style, the kind where skin looks permanently oiled and every expression is either a pout or a moan. First scene I got, the teacher bends over a desk to explain something about aperture and I swear the artist spent more time on the curve of her ass than the entire background. It's not subtle. But then the dialogue kicks in and it's like reading a textbook on how not to talk to people. The protagonist is supposed to be this serious student, right? Mature tag is there, but he acts like a horny teenager who just discovered his dick. There's this one romance path with a girl from the library, quiet type, glasses. The buildup is actually decent, she talks about her favorite books, you share a moment. I was into it. Then the sex scene triggers and it's just... positions. No connection. The game forgets it was building something and just throws a gallery of moaning faces at you. Wish the writing had the same energy as the art. Replayability is weird. You'd think multiple girls means multiple runs, but the choices are so thin. It's mostly "do you go to the pool or the darkroom" and that decides whose panties you see next. I kept clicking just to unlock the full CG set, not because I cared what happened. The summer setting is wasted too, feels like a few orange tinted backgrounds and a cricket noise loop. Compared to something like Coming Out on Top, which actually has personality in its smut, Summer Heat is just a slideshow with extra steps. Still, that one scene with the lifeguard, the way the water drips off her... fuck. I'm going back in.
